Students will use scientific inquiry methods during laboratory and field investigations following safety procedures and environmentally appropriate and ethical practices. They will use critical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem solving to make informed decisions. Students will learn the differences between elements and compounds, physical properties of matter, Earth’s energy resources, potential and kinetic energy, the rock cycle, plate tectonics, solar system, and the domains and kingdoms that organisms are classified into.
Grade 7
Students will use scientific inquiry methods during laboratory and field investigations following safety procedures and environmentally appropriate and ethical practices. They will use critical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem solving to make informed decisions. They will learn about the relationship between force, motion, and energy. Students will also learn about ecosystems and natural selection.
Grade 8
Students will use scientific inquiry methods during laboratory and field investigations following safety procedures and environmentally appropriate and ethical practices. They will use critical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem solving to make informed decisions. Students will learn about properties of atoms. They will also learn about the relationship between force, motion, and energy as well as about the movements of the sun, earth, and moon.
