Distinguished
Must complete 4 credits each of English, Math, Science, Arabic, electives, and 5 credits of Social Studies; minimum grade average of 85, 20 volunteer hours per year, minimum SAT/ACT 1100/21.
Distinguished with Completion of DCCCD Core
Must complete 4 credits each of English, Math, Arabic, electives, and 5 credits of Social Studies and Science; minimum grade average of 93, 20 volunteer hours per year, minimum SAT/ACT 1100/21.
Distinguished with Completion of Associates Degree
Must complete 4 credits each of English, Math, Science, Arabic, electives, and 5 credits of Social Studies; minimum grade average of 95, 20 volunteer hours per year, minimum SAT/ACT 1100/21.
Accelerated
In order to be eligible to receive either degree, the student must:
- Complete the required 60 credit hours listed in the pathway; receive a GPA (2) of at least 2.00 (“C”)
- Meet all TSI requirements and course prerequisites
- Complete at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by the college awarding the degree.
As the student works to complete the 60 hours required for the AS degree, they must also meet the 42-hour Core Curriculum and satisfy the 9 FCA’s shown below:
- The Associate of Science degree differs from the Associate of Arts degree by requiring an additional 6 hours to be selected from a course with prefix of BCIS, BIOL, CHEM, COSC, ENGR, ENVR, FORS, GEOL, MATH, and PHYS.
- Students are not elligible to receive both degree titles.
All students entering the dual credit program are counseled on the topics of dawah and life situations they may encounter while on a college campus.
